Supporting the Future NHS Workforce
Great Massingham and Docking Surgeries is committed to supporting the education and development of future healthcare professionals, and we have been an approved training centre since 2005. As part of this commitment, the practice may from time to time provide learning opportunities for healthcare students and trainee professionals. This may include medical students, trainee GPs, nursing students and other healthcare professionals who are gaining experience within primary care. All trainees are appropriately supervised by qualified and experienced clinicians and are required to follow the same standards of confidentiality and professionalism as all members of the practice team.
What This Means for Patients
You may occasionally be offered an appointment with a trainee healthcare professional or be asked if a student can observe a consultation. This can help trainees develop their skills and gain valuable experience while ensuring patients continue to receive high-quality care. Participation is entirely voluntary. If you would prefer not to have a student or trainee involved in your consultation, please let a member of staff know. Your decision will be respected and will not affect the care you receive.
Confidentiality
All students and trainees are bound by strict confidentiality requirements and professional standards. Any information they see or hear during their training is treated in the same confidential manner as by all practice staff.
Further Information
If you have any questions about the involvement of students or trainee healthcare professionals in your care, please speak to a member of the practice team.
